About the Association
The general idea of the joint initiative of Communication Management Section of the Central and East European Studies Association and the European Institute of Political, Economic, and Social Studies (Rome) is to create an expert community in the form of a permanent European network, specialized in studies of ways and methods of Media and Communication Management, as a support to the relations between Europe and Russia, to promote the exchange of information and documents, to eventually conduct research in common.
The communication and media aspect of future international development will be more and more topical, different kind media manipulations could do a lot of harm, its true as well the more or less objective media coverage of the local and global issues, accurate and responsible communication management will work for a democratic, civil society oriented and progressive alternative. It seems very important not to polish the reality but to avoid the situation between Russia and EU when the media coverage, the public perception of these relations is worse than the objective situation. The academic research, the correct estimation of communication risks, educational media literacy and communication management programmes and the correspondent practical consultancy done on the international basis, by the international teams of experts could supply a positive impulse for the further development of the mutually beneficial relations between EU and Russia which are so important for the international stability, peace and prosperity.
